Ireland NDA's Tony Sutton spent the first part of the year working with managing director Mairtin O Muilleoir, editor Maria McCourt and design editor Gerry Morrison on the launch of Daily Ireland, the first new daily newspaper in Northern Ireland for many years. Launched in the face of fierce political opposition, the Sinn Fein-supporting paper is aimed at the whole of Northern Ireland and the surrounding counties of the Irish Republic. The paper earned much praise for its unformatted front pages that change with the day's news.
