TUAM
HERALD
Tuam,
Co. Galway, Ireland
2002
Tuam,
in County Galway, claims to be the world's smallest city
and it has one of Ireland's widest broadsheet newspapers.
Tony Sutton was invited to redesign the paper after owner David
Burke saw NDA's work in Omagh. Biggest problem with the restyling
was replacing the newspape's faux-blackletter masthead with a
bolder, brighter sans typeface (it's amazing how reluctant editors
and journalists can be when it comes to changing what is often
the ugliest piece of type in the paper).
Headlines
are Linoytype Centennial; text is Monotype's Nimrod.
